If the screamo genre had an equivalent to the Beatles, it might be Wales' Funeral for a Friend. Although the quintet has had some success in the States, back home its latest disc, Tales Don't Tell Themselves, charted at No. 3 — and its members are stalked by the paparazzi like they're dating a Hilton sister. However, the album's success may also have something to do with the fact that the disc is the most accessible FFAF outing yet, featuring less screaming and even the occasional post-screamo power ballad (see "Into Oblivion [Reunion]" for evidence). Whether the band will experience the same success in the U.S. is anyone's guess, but you can judge that for yourself when Funeral for a Friend plays this summer's Warped Tour and attempts to convert the sunburned American masses.
