More About

Cliff’s a blue-collar guy living in a blue-collar world. As a cross-country trucker, he lives in diners, truck stops and the occasional garage when his truck breaks down. This time he’s broken down in a dime-store shop staffed by Rose, a meek woman who has withdrawn into a dream-like world of her own making. The only thing they have in common is a monotonous loneliness, and oftentimes, that’s enough to lead to at least one night of companionship. But for some reason, the brash Cliff can’t quite shake off Rose as he has his other one-night stands. What is it that draws people together, even when their own tendencies pull them away? That’s the question at the heart of William Mastrosimone’s The Woolgatherer, the tough and tender two-act play presented by Soundstage Productions at 7:30 p.m. this Thursday through Saturday (July 26 through 28) in the second-floor theater at Minions Café (7322 Manchester Road, Maplewood; www.soundstageproductions.net). Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or by calling 314-968-8070 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. weekdays.
