Iron out the Links

Ms. Day has a bit of a problem: She wants to get out there on the links, but because she’s no Tiger, she quickly becomes very frustrated with her game. There haven’t been any Happy Gilmore-style club-throwings yet, but it may just be a matter of time. She’s hoping that golfing for charity might help her see the larger picture. And that’s where Tower Tee (6727 Heege Road; 314-481-5818 or www.towertee.com) comes into play. This par-three hosts Rally for the Cure, a golf-tournament benefit for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. To participate, all Day has to do is show up at 8:30 a.m. to register with $45 in hand, then play a two-person scramble on the back nine. Every participant gets a prize, no matter her score, and special awards go out during the closest-to-the-pin contest. But is an extra gift bestowed upon the worst player? If so, Day has that honor in the bag.
