The score for The Little Mermaid really rocked your socks back in the day. “Under the Sea?” Loved it. “Part of Your World?” Beautiful. But, sadly, you’ve listened to this soundtrack so much that it no longer carries as much joy for you as it used to. But you love island-inspired musicals! So get to the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City) for a show set in the Caribbean (the French Antilles, to be exact). Once on This Island shares themes with the beloved Disney classic and features snappy tunes, a love story, powerful and mythical forces, and colorful costumes and sets -- très tropical! And tickets cost only $5! How’s that for an affordable vacay? Performances happen at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday (July 27 and 28).
