Potter Mania Continues!

With Potter madness having fully infiltrated the indie-rock scene (many, many tribute bands exist now; visit www.wizardrock.org for details), J.K. Rowling must be rolling around with the windows down, blaring songs about her very successful Harry Potter book series. We suspect she particularly likes the garage synth-pop of Harry and the Potters. Brothers Paul and Joe DeGeorge started this band one morning five years ago in a desperate attempt to fill the slots of canceled acts at a small show in their backyard (six people witnessed the awesomeness). Since then, the band has been singing songs like “Save Ginny Weasley” and “Voldemort Can’t Stop the Rock!” for the masses. See them perform a wizard rock show with Draco and the Malfoys, their natural archenemies, at the Central branch of the St. Louis Public Library (1301 Olive Street). The all-ages show begins at 6 p.m. and is free; for more information call 314-241-2288 or visit www.slpl.org.
