Bringin’ Him Home

Twenty years after it took Broadway by storm, the immensely popular French-turned-English musical Les Misérables finally rolls into the Muny’s idyllic amphitheater in Forest Park (314-361-1900 or www.muny.org) for a week of performances. As if this wasn’t enough to get the Broadway juices flowin’, native St. Louis son Ken Page plays the role of the ruthless innkeeper, Thénardier. As an original member of the Broadway cast of Cats, Page knows a thing or three about belting out the tunes, but readers may know him best as the creepy voice of Oogie Boogie in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Intrigued? Page by Page, a CD recording of Page’s solo show, will be on sale at the Muny, so bring a little extra cash to pick up a copy. Les Misérables plays at 8:15 p.m. Monday through Wednesday (August 6 through 15), and tickets are $9 to $62.
