Jazz Pizzazz
As a music lover, you attend concerts all the time, you spend half of your paycheck on music, and you follow the local scene. So why is it you know so little about jazz? It’s time you had a lesson in the genre from one of the best, Jeanne Trevor. This legend played the infamous Gaslight Square, and she’s still working the scene today. She’s even performing in the Muny’s upcoming production of Les Misérables. To see Trevor in a more intimate setting, head over to Brandt’s Café and Red Carpet Lounge (6525 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-727-3663 or www.brandtscafe.com) this evening; Trevor will get to singing around 7:30 p.m. The show is free, so order up some dinner and prepare to learn a little something. Who knows? Maybe even some of the cast members from Les Mis will show up!
