The name Jesse Lacey might not sound familiar, but chances are you're familiar with his band Brand New. Following in the tradition of Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, Lacey is embarking on a solo tour alongside his friend and sometimes tourmate Kevin Devine. Fans should expect stripped-down versions of Brand New hits such as "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot" as well as the occasional cover and other surprises. In fact if you're really lucky, you might even get an impromptu duet of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." (Lacey and Devine were known to collaborate on the track on Brand New's last headlining tour.) Either way, expect an intimate evening of rock from one of emo's foremost songwriters.
