As the horribly hot days of summer stretch -- infinitely, it seems -- into the horizon, St. Louisans seek to escape. Fall can’t come soon enough: the crisp nights, the rooftop parties, the new fashions. Mmm, the fashions! Good news -- during St. Louis Fashion Week, presented by Alive magazine, sartorial artistry will be absolutely everywhere. The six-day bash kicks off Monday, August 20, and ends with a glamorous wrap-up party at the Pepper Lounge on Saturday, August 25. All week long, you can glimpse gorgeous new lines (from the likes of designer-to-the-stars Jesse Kamm) while socializing at St. Louis hotspots. Clear your calendar for a trunk show at Neiman Marcus (1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 21), the “Forbidden Fashion” show (hosted by Project Runway alums Nick Verreos and Kara Janx) at the Skyhouse on Washington Avenue (7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, August 23), the can’t-miss Liquid Style Fashion Show at the Chase Park Plaza (7 to 10 p.m. Friday, August 24) and much, much more. Your $35 Fashion Week Pass gets you into all events except for Liquid Style; visit www.ticketmaster.com to make your purchase. For information about all of the Fashion Week designers, sponsors and events, check out www.fashionweekstlouis.com.
