Hey. All you big-brain scientists - youre all on notice. Where are the fusion-powered flying cars and holodeck parlors? Youre supposed to be creating our cyber-awesome future, and instead all we have is high-speed access to porn and about a dozen impotency-fighting pills. Whos busy imagineering the future? Why, the artists, of course. Afterglow of the Liquid Mirror, a sensory immersion theater piece created by futurists Evelina Domnitch and Dmitry Gelfand, shows a world where humanitys DNA has taken one giant leap forward. The result is a bio-cybernetic utopia depicted through interactive costumes, sets, laser projections and video art. Domnitch and Gelfand collaborated with the singularly talented fashion designer Nina Ganci (of Skif International) and video/cyber-artists Chris Trotter, Bas van Koolwijk, Marcel Wierckx and Otolab to bring this vision of the future to the Saint Louis Science Center McDonnel Planetarium in Forest Park (314-289-4400 or www.portablepalace.com). The limitless possibilities of the human mind meet the ever-expanding horizon of technological reality at 7 p.m. Friday (August 17 and 24). Tickets for your trip to the world of the day after tomorrow cost a mere $10.
