The Redwalls9 p.m. Friday, August 17. Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp AvenueBy Christian SchaefferPublished on August 15, 2007 at 10:47amIn examining the career of the Redwalls, the Mersey-indebted foursome's recording career has followed something resembling a bell curve. Its debut, 2003's Universal Blues, was released on St. Louis' Undertow Records, while its follow-up, De Nova, came out on Capitol Records to little fanfare and a fair amount of critical derision. This year, the Redwalls have returned to the minors, releasing the four-song EP Wall to Wall Sessions on Princeton Lane, a student-run label, and the band has begun to trade in its Beatles affectations for something a little modern and worldly. The raga-tinged "Edge of the Night" shows a bit of continental flair, with tablas and harmonium-drones giving way for to flamenco-flecked guitars and muted mariachi horns.
