We (Still) Got the Beat

Once upon a time, St. Louisans knew how to celebrate having Memorial Day and Labor Day off from work. On the Sunday nights of these holiday weekends, they would descend on Washington Avenue and go to Beat Fest, a fabulous (and now-defunct) electronic music festival. Ah, those were the days! But the beat isn’t dead in this town (at least not yet). For your electronic-music fix this three-day weekend, you need to head eastward to the Landing tonight for Riverspin, happening at the Feisty Bulldog and Throttle (both are located at 720 North First Street; 314-241-1000). Seven local DJs fill the four floors of these venues with a variety of music from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., and admission is free! You can’t afford not to go hear Mikey B, Robitaille, DJ Scotty Mac (pictured) and others. For more information about the fun, visit www.throttlestl.com.
