St. Louis’ Hydeware Theatre troupe is gearing up for triple the toil and triple the trouble with its new production of Shakespeare’s enduring drama Macbeth. Beginning Friday, September 7, theater enthusiasts can expect more costume changes than would happen at Cher and Diddy shows combined, because all twenty-four characters are portrayed by only three actors!

Macbeth is the tale of the title character, who, in an effort to ascend to the throne, murders the King of Scotland when Macbeth’s femme fatale advises him to speed along a prophecy from a trio of witches. Hydeware’s high-energy staging promises all of the betrayal and backstabbing you crave in a Shakespearean tragedy, and best of all, the show is free! Macbeth plays at 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday (September 7 through 16) in the Whitaker Theatre at the pool pavilion in Tower Grove Park (4256 Magnolia Avenue), BYOC (chair). For more information call 314-368-7306 or visit www.hydewaretheatre.org.
