It’s been 25 glorious years since the Fox Theatre in Grand Center (527 North Grand Boulevard) was reborn as the Fabulous Fox. Originally a movie palace when she opened in 1929, this old girl’s been through a lot of changes, but today, she goes back to her roots with a solid day of Fabulous Flicks. The 1925 silent version of The Phantom of the Opera screens at 1 p.m., complete with Wurlitzer accompaniment. Then at 3 p.m., settle in for the classic family sci-fi film E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (also celebrating its silver anniversary), and at 6 p.m. sing along with the 2002 money-makin’-machine Chicago. Tickets for each film are a mere five clams at the Fox box office as well as through www.fabulousfox.com, and parking today is free!
