Ferguson Keeps It Real

As you can imagine, the Night & Day team sees its fair share of city festivals. And while all of them offer residents much fun and fellowship, we’re thinking that the Ferguson StreetFest serves up more than most. The festivities happen at 20 South Florissant Road in Ferguson and run from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (September 28 through 30). During those few days, the StreetFest planners have packed in a belly-dance performance, an acrobatic extravaganza, a motorcycle show, bingo, tons of food from all over the world, carnival rides, puppy-dog events and much more! The highlight of the fun on Friday has to be Chicago’s Too White Crewperforming old-school hip-hop jams of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s from 9 to 11 p.m. -- it’ll be like a junior-high dance all over again! This group has busted moves and Humpty Danced all over the country (even at the Playboy Mansion), so you know this show will be a good time. And at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, there’s the Manly Man High Heel Race; men can rent heels for $5, and every racer gets a beer. For more information about this party and a schedule of all music acts and other goings-on, visit www.fergusoncitywalk.com, and call 314-324-4298 for more information. Admission to StreetFest is free.
