More About
Premier cabaret stylist Steve Ross is no stranger to St. Louis. But the truly ´smarvelous thing about the incomparable Ross is that every time you see him, its as if youre seeing him for the first time. The clarity and precision of his phrasing allow you to be re-introduced to song lyrics all over again. No matter that youve sung those same lyrics yourself countless times. Thanks to Ross proclivity for savoring syllables, youre going to hear him create something original out of what you thought was all-too familiar. When Steve Ross begins his five-show gig at Cabaret in The Savoy Room this Thursday, October 25, hell be singing the music and lyrics of that other Steve as in Sondheim. Ross only debuted this brand-new show, Good Things Going, last month at New Yorks Algonquin Hotel, so hes sure to still be seeking out hidden nuances in Sondheims lyrics and taking great delight in sharing his discoveries. Rest assured there will be plenty of Sondheim tunes youve never heard before even including the ones you have. Ross performs at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 5 and 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (October 25 through 28) at Cabaret in The Savoy Room at the Sheldon, 3648 Washington Boulevard. Tickets are $45 and $60; call 314-534-1111 or visit www.metrotix.com for more information.
