The St. Louis Shag

So last Friday’s “So You Think You Can Dance” live performance has you hankering for more? Dancing with the St. Louis Stars should help. Even though during this fundraiser for the Independence Center, you don’t actually get to dance -- leave that to the stars, baby -- for $50, you can watch the show while enjoying a free drink and know your money is going to a good cause (the Independence Center serves mentally ill adults). Dancers include Jack Buck Jr., Debra Bass from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Becky Queen of Carpet and musician extraordinaire Ralph Butler, who all shake it with the instructors with whom they’ve been training, and dance styles range from the fox trot to the tango. The competition will be judged by many esteemed St. Louisans -- including you! Just whip out $10 (or more), and have your vote be counted! Dancing with the St. Louis Stars takes place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the Khorassan Ballroom at the Chase Park Plaza (212 North Kingshighway Boulevard). To purchase tickets, call 314-880-5404.
