Breathe Easier

What goes together better than dogs and fire hydrants? The folks at Four Muddy Paws, Stray Rescue of St. Louis and the St. Louis Animal Rights Team (START) couldn’t think of anything either, which is why tonight’s “O: An Evening of Art and Wine” is such an appropriate fundraiser. You see, they’re silent-auctioning off hand-painted fire-hydrant artwork by local artists to help the St. Louis Fire Department purchase pet-friendly oxygen masks for use in rescuing furry family members from house fires. (Unless your pet is a fire-breathing dragon, you definitely want our fire trucks to be equipped with these.) “O” features libations from 33 Wine Shop and Tasting Bar, people-food from SqWires and even a real St. Louis Fire Department truck (if available) for kids to explore. The fundraiser runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Four Muddy Paws (1711 Park Avenue; 314-773-7297 or www.fourmuddypaws.com); admission is free.
