Mystery author Elaine Viets is one tough cookie. Not only has this dyed-in-the-wool St. Louisan survived living in Florida, away from her beloved hometown, and working as a telemarketer for book research (ugh!), she also endured a stroke earlier this year. But that couldn’t even keep her down! Despite her medical troubles, our Elaine is back on tour and back in town promoting Accessory to Murder, the third book in the Josie Marcus series. Josie is a single mom living in Maplewood who makes ends meet as a mystery shopper. In this story, Josie’s friend’s husband has been accused of murder -- but who really dunnit? Is the answer in the mall? You’ll be one step closer to the resolution of these questions when you attend a book-signing with Viets at 1 p.m. at the Ladue Barnes & Noble Booksellers (8871 Ladue Road; 314-862-6280). At the event Accessory will be available for purchase at the quite-reasonable price of $6.99, and you can also let Elaine know you’ve kept her in your thoughts.
