The evening before Thanksgiving is full of traditions: Grandma bakes pies, Mom frantically cleans the bathrooms, and Cousin Jeff meets up with his college pals at Blueberry Hill. But what about the hip, successful and single crowd? We’re too old to spend the evening crowded into Nick’s Pub, and we’re way too young to stay at home rolling out biscuit dough and toasting pecans. Luckily, Single Living has put together a Pre-Thanksgiving Wine & Cheese Singles Mixer, a.k.a. the perfect alternative, happening at 7 p.m. at Yia Yia’s Euro Bistro (15601 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield; 636-537-9991). This event, which is also a fundraiser for St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA), only costs $15 and features wine, selected cheeses and appetizers, door prizes, and, of course, other like-minded singles. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.sfsingleliving.com/stl.htm.
