More About

Ska will never die, because Fishbone will never let it. Formed in 1979, the Los Angeles band has survived at least two waves of the genre and continues to tour and release records. But this isn't to say that Fishbone has ever played by the book; its signature sound also contains more-than-trace elements of funk, metal and hardcore. While this eclecticism may sound dated, it's also responsible for the band's longevity. Fishbone will allow its unique brand of amusement-park jams to echo through the nooks and crannies of the City Museum — with a whopping six original members in tow — as it celebrates its newest album, Still Stuck in Your Throat. While music ska-lars may declare, "Ska is dead!" Fishbone will skank-timoniously party at ground zero like post-nuclear ska-ckroaches that survived the ska-pocalypse.
