Located in the middle of Saint Louis University's urban oasis, the historic Samuel Cupples House (3673 West Pine Mall) is a grand jewel on the midtown campus. The home's purple sandstone exterior serves as a lovely backdrop for Christmas Lights in the Night, an event commemorating the lighting of the Cupples House outdoor Christmas tree. The arboreal festivities begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, wine and light refreshments are served, and carolers perform your favorite holiday tunes. Plus, attendees can check out the Holiday Rooms in Bloom exhibition, which features floral works throughout the mansion. The display runs through Sunday, December 9. It's free the first two nights and costs $5 thereafter (toy and clothing donations accepted). Call 314-977-3575 or visit cupples.slu.edu for more information about the holiday festivities and exhibition hours.
