Walk It Off

If you're one of those rare people who doesn't succumb to turkey coma, you could burn off your meal walking around the lovely (and open-363-days-a-year) Saint Louis Zoo in Forest Park (314-781-0900 or www.stlzoo.org) this fine Thanksgiving afternoon. True, the hours are cut short today, so the animals can spend private time with their families — the zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — but that's plenty of time to stroll by the bear pits and compare your gut to theirs. Admission is free, as always, but as long as you're being all Type-A, why not do a little Christmas shopping at the Holiday Zootique in the Living World center? All sorts of wildlife-themed holiday ornaments are in stock and priced to move.
