War Games

Are the kids tired of all their new toys already? Maybe you should make a quick family jaunt over to Jefferson Barracks Park (533 Grant Road; 314-544-6224) and show 'em what you had when you were their age. Playing with the Past: Military Toys, an exhibit of classic war toys, features everything from the pressed-steel tanks and fighting planes of the '40s and '50s to timeless board games such as Battleship and Stratego. It'll either make the nippers grateful for what they have or envious of the simpler fun you grew up with. But hurry — Playing with the Past is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday — and Sunday, December 30, is the final day of the exhibit. Admission is $2.
