New Year, New Rivalry

By Alison Sieloff

Published on December 26, 2007

Any St. Louisan who breathes the hoppy air here and drinks the city's muddy water knows about our sports teams' rivalries, many of which are with Chicago organizations. There's the Blues-Blackhawks situation and, of course, the rabid Cards-Cubs contention. Fortunately, as of today, there might be a new rivalry between the cities that we can add to the list: St. Louis' own Arch Rival Roller Girls challenge Chicago's Windy City Rollers to a flat-track roller derby bout on our soil (specifically, the All American Sports Mall, located at 11133 Lindbergh Business Court; 314-487-4625). The high-speed action gets under way at 7:30 p.m., and admission costs $10. You can learn more about the team, and buy your tickets by visiting www.archrivalrollergirls.com.
