You know the theme of Pink Floyd's The Wall: the barrier that exists between artist and audience, between the lonely individual and the rest of humanity. A. R. Gurney revisited that concept with his play The Fourth Wall. The plot of Gurney's comedy centers on a married couple, Peggy and Roger, after Peggy decides to redecorate their living room in the manner of a stage set, with everything facing one bare wall — the titular fourth wall — which in reality is the audience. Discover the ramifications of this nutty feng shui when the Kirkwood Theatre Guild performs The Fourth Wall in the Robert G. Reim Theatre at the Kirkwood Community Center (111 South Geyer Road, Kirkwood; 314-821-9956 or www.ktg-onstage.org). Performances happen at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday (January 18 through 26), plus there's a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, January 20. Tickets cost $16.
