More About

With but one set, a dozen actors (who are referred to only by their juror numbers), and no opportunities for stagecraft or special effects, Twelve Angry Men doesn't offer a viewer much in the realm of aesthetic flash. But don't be misled: Reginald Rose's drama about a jury deliberating over the case of a young man accused of patricide may be visually stark, but that just means there's plenty of blank space for the cast to fill. As the jurors argue about the accused's fate, they reveal their own weaknesses, their meanness, their flaws — and they also demonstrate all of the strength and might and conviction that burn in the human heart. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Twelve Angry Men at 8 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves; 314-968-4925 or www.repstl.org). Tickets are $16 to $63, and performances continue daily through Sunday, March 2 (no performances on Monday).
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Feb. 6. Continues through March 2, 2008
