Oliver!
Published on February 09, 2008 at 4:40am
British citizen John Oliver has a passport that states his profession as "comedian," and he's spent several years entertaining the prickly and fickle McSweeney's generation to back up that claim. Oliver's a dynamo, a whirlwind of the New Media, bouncing from the realms of radio sketch to podcast to freelance newspaper to on-the-interweb bits, but is perhaps best known as a correspondent on Comedy Central's informative and hilarious Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Oliver performs his stand-up act at 7 p.m. at Webster University's Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road; 314-246-7708). Tickets are an even $10 and may be purchased in advance at the Webster University Center Information Desk (175 Edgar Road) or at the door.
