If you're old enough to be wistful for a hip-hop era when "Jam Master Jay was more than a memory/and the culture had harmony" — or if you're just fed up with the current state of both hip-hop music and culture — then Milton Campbell, a.k.a. Ohmega Watts, might have the remedy. The Brooklyn MC and producer's two excellent albums (2005's The Find and last year's Watts Happening) definitely recall hip-hop's positive-thinking Native Tongue movement — but also encompass everything from cutting-edge soul to world music to create a thoroughly modern feast for the ears and the mind.
