Gimme a "V"

Ah, the vagina. Called everything from "Virginia" to "vajayjay" (and rarely by its proper name), the vagina is an often unexplored area of intrigue and mystery — at least in terms of our vocabularies. Eve Ensler's play The Vagina Monologues has been fighting this unspoken trend for years, making women and men all over write and speak the word "vagina" with pride. You can help spread the word and, more important, raise money to end violence against women by attending the local production of The Vagina Monologues, which features a diverse cast of 29 proud St. Louis ladies and is directed by Stellie Siteman (pictured). Put on by the National Council of Jewish Women-St. Louis Section in honor of V-Day (learn more at www.vday.org), this show happens at 7:30 p.m. at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City).
