Summer Dreams

By Alison Sieloff

Let's think back to last summer: Those were the days, right? All of the carefree evenings we spent outdoors, just sipping a drink on the patio of the Boathouse in Forest Park (www.boathouseforestpark.com) — good times, indeed. If only we could relax there now and pretend like it's summertime. You know, maybe eat some cinnamon ice cream, have a couple of $2 beers. And perhaps nibble on some shrimp with a side of andouille and cornbread — that sure would be nice. But not if the dinner were too expensive; we're thinking $15 for a few courses. Yes, $15 for supper sounds great! If only the Boathouse would offer a special three-course shrimp boil at least once a week, just to get us through these last winter days. Ah, we can dream, can't we? But wait, what's that? The Boathouse is offering such a thing? Every Wednesday evening through April 2? Glory be! Dreams can come true! Let's call 314-961-7588, extension 251, and make our reservations now!
Wednesdays. Starts: March 5. Continues through April 2, 2008
