Froggone It!

If you're a careful reader of this paper (and of this section in particular), you already know that 2008 is the Year of the Frog — not per the Chinese calendar, of course, but according to the Amphibian Ark, a group that wants to raise awareness about the decline in the world's amphibian population (to be followed, we fear, by an exponential decline in the prince population). Fans of the frog and other herpetological animals, as well as wolf enthusiasts, butterfly fanatics and more, can learn about all of these important creatures today at Conservation for Critters, happening from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kirkwood Community Center (111 South Geyer Road). This event is sponsored by the St. Louis Herpetological Society and features exhibits, hands-on children's activities and live animals. Potential princesses, pucker up. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for tadpoles younger than ten. Call 636-942-3131 or visit www.stlherpsociety.org for more information.
