Have a Ball!

Like the Olympics and other high-profile biennial events, the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis' Dada Ball only appears on calendars once every two years. Named after the twentieth-century arts movement toward the illogical and absurd, tonight's gala benefits the museum and provides an alluring evening of glitz and fun fashions. First, there's the dinner portion of the ball (tickets cost $300), which begins at 6 p.m., and after that, the fun really gets going when the doors of the Contemporary (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660) open to the vivacious afterparty-goers at 9 p.m. During this part of the event, DJ Big D's beats entertain guests as they mingle, sip complimentary drinks from Budweiser Select and Glazer's, and snack on free desserts from Gelato Di Riso, Jilly's Cupcake Bar and Steven Becker Fine Dining.
