Dogtown's Big Day

As you've no doubt heard, there will be no outside alcohol allowed at this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dogtown. So? Like you can't find a drink in Dogtown on St. Patrick's Day? All the usual bars are open for business, there will be beer vendors in the neighborhood, and you're still allowed to bring in soft drinks and food, just no glass bottles. The parade starts at 12:30 p.m. at the Tamm Avenue overpass and Oakland Boulevard, rolling merrily southward toward Manchester Road. After the parade comes the street party, which spans the heart of Dogtown for the rest of the day and most of the night. As always, admission is free, but you'll probably want to bring ready cash for necessaries such as food and beer. Sweet, sweet beer. For more information head to www.stlhibernians.org.
