It wasn't until Ms. Day was much older that she realized her mom made up the "fact" that people were supposed to squint on Easter. This apparently had just been a ploy to get little Miss Day to stop complaining about the sun being in her eyes and start smiling for the pictures. Nowadays, Day knows a few more (true) things about this holiday. She's learned that chocolate bunnies don't improve with age — you have to eat them in their entirety in one sitting within 48 hours of Easter morning — and she knows that families and friends are supposed to get together for a nice meal. To help with this last requirement, Vin de Set (2017 Chouteau Avenue; 314-241-8989 or
www.1111-m.com) serves an
Easter Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Partaking in the feast costs $34 per person, and that gets you your basic breakfasty-lunchy stuff, with the added bonus of ham, prime rib and tenderloin carved to order, an omelet station (you can also order crêpes here), mucho seafood, and a separate dessert buffet! You won't need to trick anyone to smile after seeing all that!
