City of Angels

It's easy to be jealous of angels. They get to wear comfy, floaty robes, they sport wings, and they have ample opportunities to help people in their times of need. While all of these attributes are enviable, perhaps the best aspect of angeling is that last one. Providing aid and a little comfort when the going gets tough — yep, that's the good stuff. Fortunately, performing selfless acts isn't just reserved for the heavenly; we can all get in on the altruistic good times in little ways each day. It's especially easy to do so today at the Hardee's Iceplex (16851 North Outer 40 Drive, Chesterfield; 636-537-4200 or www.hardeesiceplex.com). That's where the PAIGE Foundation hosts Angels on Ice, a benefit for Camp Rainbow (a place for sick children to have a little fun). During this fundraiser you can ice-skate to your heart's content, participate in some turkey bowling (?!), munch on the appetizer buffet, knock back a few beers and glasses of wine, and bid on sporting-themed silent-auction items. The fun gets going at 6 p.m., and admission costs $10 to $20. For more information visit www.paigefoundation.com.
