If we were to identify the three things most crucial for human happiness, the list would go something like: puppies, cold beer and an assortment of cheeses. We never thought such perfect happiness could be achieved in a lifetime — let alone in a single day — but pure joy arrives tonight in the form of the Anheuser-Busch Beer School, hosted by the Humane Society of Missouri. Arrive at Humane Society headquarters (1201 Macklind Avenue) at 5:30 p.m. to check in. Then, at 6 p.m., an Anheuser-Busch brewmaster leads a lively discussion about sweet, sweet beer. Stick around after the brewmaster’s presentation for beer-and-cheese pairings, tours of the Humane Society (there are those puppies we promised) and merry mingling. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and proceeds go to the Chi Chi Anti-Cruelty Fund. Call 314-951-1501 for more information; to sign up for the class online, visit member.hsmo.org/beerschool.
