In an age when the word "affair" is typically preceded by phrases like "that whole sordid," it's refreshing to encounter something that's truly A Tasteful Affair. Now in its twentieth year, this delicious fundraiser for Food Outreach continues to attract hundreds of charitable, epicurean St. Louisans. Be a part of the fun from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the Chase Park Plaza (212 North Kingshighway Boulevard). Your $50-to-$65 ticket (call 314-652-3663 or visit www.foodoutreach.org) gains you entrance to the party, plus tantalizing noshes from more than 35 area restaurants, culinary groups and caterers. And whatever you do, don't duck out early — you won't want to miss the live auction at 3:45 p.m. Bid on such fabulous items as a private wine-tasting for 25 at Parker's Table, a weeklong trip to Miami and a romantic Paris getaway. There are also dozens of silent-auction items, so you most likely won't leave empty-handed. The best part? Proceeds help St. Louisans living with cancer and HIV/AIDS. Great food, excellent auction items and a most-worthy cause: Talk about an affair to remember. And there's an afterparty, too!
