Dance Fever

With several television shows dedicated to dance and all of the great dance performances St. Louis has seen in the past few weeks, it’s no wonder that you’re now hooked on the art form. You want more, and you want it now! Good thing it’s time for the National Dance Week Celebration (314-703-0985 or www.nationaldanceweekstl.com). This festival features nearly 50 local groups — from the Slaughter Project to Afriky Lolo (pictured) and from the St. Louis Ballroom Dancers to Dances of India — that leap, turn, stomp, move, stretch and tap onstage at St. Louis Union Station (1820 Market Street), just to provide you with your dance fix. The afternoon of free performances kicks off at noon and wraps up sometime after 4 p.m. And if after all that you’re still wanting more, Dance Week participator the St. Louis Cultural Flamenco Society brings The Rhythms of Flamenco in the Americas to the auditorium of the J.C. Penney Conference Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road).
