With the flowers blooming and the frozen-custard business booming, the season has taken a turn for the better (finally). But if, even after a thorough spring cleaning, your humble abode is clinging to those weepy winter blues, now's the time to take that velvet Elvis to the curb and brighten those walls with some homegrown art. This evening, Thirteen Squared, a group committed to raising funds for the local arts community, has organized the Celebrate Art Sale to benefit Viva Vox, which teams at-risk youth with local creatives. During this benefit more than 100 eight-inch-square original artworks are available for purchase (that's Carol Carter's Bananas pictured)at the oh-so-reasonable price of $50 each! The event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. (the actual sale begins at 6:30 p.m.) at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard; www.art-stl.com). Admission is free.
