Unreal: Why are you selling your bounce castle?

Ellen: We blew it up last summer. The kids loved it. But for the last six months it's been folded up in the laundry room. I don't want to schlep it outside again. It's just so heavy. It's a real pain to move.

How heavy is it?

At least a hundred pounds. Probably more.

And you're asking $250?

Yes, or best offer.

So, how much bounce for the ounce is that?

Good question. Let's see. There are 16 ounces per pound, and let's say it weighs 100 pounds. That's 1,600 ounces divided by $250, which comes out to, um, 15 cents per ounce.

Wow! That's a lot of bounce for a little coin!

I'll say. It's a great bargain. I paid $400 for it last year. It's commercial-quality, just like the kind you see at fairs and carnivals.

Won't your kiddies miss the bounce castle?

Maybe, but I hope they won't notice. We just got a new swing set for the back yard, and the castle is going bye-bye.

From time to time Unreal trolls the St. Louis Post-Dispatch classified section's "Bargain Box." We cannot guarantee any item remains available for purchase at press time.
