Art doesn't just live in sterile galleries and pristine theaters. In fact, you can find artistic expression everywhere you look and in every county, especially in south county this weekend. The free Festival of Arts takes place there at Affton High School (8309 Mackenzie Road) from noon to 6 p.m. Included in the day of creativity is art of every kind: Performers fill the stages (including Erin Bode, pictured, who gets jazzy at 1 p.m.), students show off their work, local artists display and demonstrate their skills, participatory crafts entertain the little ones, and masters of the barbecue keep things hot and tasty. Also during the fair, the Affton CenterStage Theatre Company (www.afftoncenterstage.org) presents Sleeping Beauty & the Beast at 2 and 7 p.m.; tickets to this funny fairy-tale mash-up cost $5.
