Say, you look like somebody who appreciates the sublime alchemy created when the human form moves rhythmically to music. You got plans for Friday and Saturday (May 30 and 31)? Well, you do now: The St. Louis Dance Festival Showcase and ANNONYArts: Intimate both take place at the Mallinckrodt Center on the Washington University campus (6445 Forsyth Boulevard) those two evenings. The St. Louis Dance Festival starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Edison Theatre, and it features performances by area dance groups such as MADCO, St. Louis Ballet and Viva Flamenco; tickets for this are $18 to $30, and more information is available at www.dancesofindiastlouis.org. Intimate is a suite of works choreographed by Dawn Karlovsky, and it takes place at 8 p.m. in the A.E. Hotchner Studio Theatre's friendly confines. Karlovsky's fellow performers include choreographer Doris Ressl and interstellar musicnaut Tory Z. Starbuck, who's composed an original score for one piece. Tickets for Intimate are $10 to $14, and www.annonyarts.org can provide further details. Go both nights for two completely different yet satisfying experiences.
