Inspired by the mechanics of paper dolls and his love of reading, Ontario-based artist Wyn Geleynse has created a whimsical paper library using heavy card stock. Kit 1A: Collected Books; Some Assembly Required represents the great books that influenced Geleynse (and his collaborator Jason Dickson); represents because in a two-dimensional trompe loeil feat, all the books are actually cut accordion-fold-style from a single piece of card stock. Geleynses pop-up library is on display in the front room of the Bruno David Gallery (3721 Washington Boulevard, 314-531-3030 or www.brunodavidgallery.com) through Saturday, July 5. Photographer Elaine Blatts Natural Phenomena and Jill Downens Hybrida Drawings are also exhibited. All three shows open with a free public reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 6. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
