When it comes to art fairs, you're the expert. You know when to arrive to maximize your browsing, and you can always suss out the best deals. But while you've been perfecting the skill of being a professional art-fair patron, you've secretly been wishing you were the one sitting inside the booth watching people ogle your stunning wares. But you don't have a craft! Maybe you want to be a clay artist -- yeah, that could be cool. But you're not sure. So why not try out the pottery wheel? You can do so for free at Art in the Park[ing Lot], an event held outside of Chesterfield Arts (444 Chesterfield Center, Chesterfield; 636-519-1955 or www.chesterfieldarts.org) from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday (June 13 and 14). The hands-on art activities for adults and kids happen only on Saturday, but both days feature plenty of artist booths, music (courtesy of Dr. Zhivegas and others), food, drinks and fun. Admission is free.
