Bigger and Badder

Here there be monsters

Sure, a monster truck is pricey, gaudy and provides essentially the same transportation capabilities as a smaller truck — but those Manolo-whatevers ain't doing anything on your feet that a pair of Chuck Taylors won't do, and you ladies have that whole Sex and the City phenomenon to celebrate their superfluousness. And this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (June 13 through 15), the menfolk have the Monster Machines exhibit at the Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4400 or www.slsc.org) to celebrate the biggest and baddest of vehicles. Giant tractors, military vehicles from Scott Air Force Base, Harley-Davidsons and other giant fuel-burners will cover the parking lot and rev their engines so you can feel the roar of far too much power. Monster Machines is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, and admission is free.
