Step right up to see the world's most extraordinary, jaw-dropping visions! For just $20 — a tiny fee for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — get an up-close look at the greatest sideshow acts on Earth! Witness the ever-charming Swamp Boy tame dangerous reptiles! Glimpse the future with the all-knowing Occult Mystic! Be amazed by Forever-Orange Girl, a victim of a spray-tanning mishap! (OK, that last one isn't in there — but we had you for a second, right?) On Friday, June 20, c'mon down to the Historic Firehouse (3555 Salena Street) for a vintage sideshow banner exhibit. And that's not all! Featuring astounding banners (some not seen in more than 50 years!) from five famous midway artists, this 6-p.m.-to-midnight show is curated by banner expert and collector Mike Siculan, a noted lecturer on the subject of freak shows and contributor to the cult book Freaks, Geeks and Strange Girls. Admission includes three drinks, and proceeds benefit the Marine Villa Neighborhood Organization.
