Cocktails and a Moonlit Night

Feel the island breeze in St. Charles

There's just something about a handsome bartender. Give us a pre-couch-jumping-and-cradle-robbing Tom Cruise behind the bar any day, and we'll order whatever he's serving. Alas, that particular scenario can only be realized through cable screenings of Cocktail. To put a more modern and realistic mix on things, pay a visit to Side Pockets Restaurant & Sports Bar (1439 Bass Pro Drive, St. Charles; 636-724-9300 or www.sidepockets.com). From 6 to 10 p.m. tonight, the hot spot will host the Big Kahuna Celebrity Bartender Challenge, featuring the very good-looking Matt Neustadt from Farmer Wants a Wife behind the taps. Hey, he and Brooke aren't married yet, so we all can dream, right? Plus, there will be other local celebs shaking things up, working together in one-hour shifts and competing to see which volunteer-bartender team collects the most cash. The cover is just $5, and all the money raised goes to Community Living, Inc., an organization that provides services for people with disabilities. Won't you don a Hawaiian shirt, get into the spirit of the night and help out the cause? To learn more about the fundraiser, including when Matt is tending bar, visit www.cliservices.org.
