Perhaps you don't realize how much work goes into a winning pageant performance — or perhaps you're a regular reader of "Excellence," the online column by the reigning Miss Gay Missouri, Jade Sinclair, and are well aware of the hundreds of hours that go into a seven-minute performance. Elements such as prop selection, costume, hair, makeup and the performance of backup dancers can make or break a contestant. Obviously, Jade has it down, since she's already a pageant winner. But tonight at 6 p.m. at the Millennium Hotel (200 South Fourth Street; www.mgmpageant.com), a new head will be crowned at Miss Gay Missouri America Finals Night. The top ten contestants will compete in evening-gown, stage-interview and the ever-important (and entertaining) talent divisions, and the ultimate winner goes on to compete in Miss Gay America right here in St. Louis in October. All this pageantry, plus performances by Jade and the reigning Miss Gay America, Mikaila Kay, are yours for a $25 admission fee.
