Take a Bite out of Hunger

Restaurant Week helps everyone

To you, "operation food search" is your dilemma after work: too broke to dine out, yet too tired to cook. For hungry families Operation Food Search takes on a much more important meaning: This food bank helps feed many St. Louisans in need. By participating in Downtown Restaurant Week (sponsored by the RFT), both food searches benefit. From Monday through Saturday (August 11 through 16), 24 downtown restaurants (including Clark Street Grill, whose executive chef, Josh Wedel, is pictured) offer special three-course dinners for $25 per person. You don't have to do anything fancy to partake (there are no coupons or tickets to purchase; reservations are recommended) — you just need to show up and eat. Then when you're full, be sure to add an "extra helping" onto your bill. This donation of $5 goes to Operation Food Search. To have a look at the menus of participating venues and for more information, visit www.downtownrestaurantweek.net.
